Dartford Volleyball Club

A friendly club catering from beginners to National and Kent League

New season is here... (2014-2015)

We are so excited to be starting the new season. Our men's team started the season with a great win in their first game in division 2. The ladies have their first game on 26th October and are training very hard to win their division this season.

End of Season Summary (2013-2014)

As the in-door volleyball season draws to a close, Dartford Volleyball Club can congratulate it's teams and players on a job well done. Just some of our successes are listed below.

Ladies Kent League Winners 2014

Men's National League Division 3 Winners 2014

Men's Kent league Winners 2014

Kent League Cup Finals 2014 still to be decided...

Both Ladies and Men's teams will also be looking to defend their titles at this year's South East Volleyball Association Tournament, Good luck!

This season brought a string of unexpected setbacks for the Ladies team, as they saw their numbers diminish through injuries. Players bravely took on new positions, and worked tirelessly at training to adapt and evolve their skills. With continued interruption to the team line-up, wins were hard to come by, but the tenacity of the team saw their hard work rewarded when they convincingly beat Team Dulwich (who finished 2nd overall in the league). Alas, it wasn't quite enough to save the team from relegation to Division 3 next year. However, the incredible effort put into training by Dartford Ladies has seen the team's gameplay develop and solidify into something that threatens to dominate next years league. 2014/15 pre-season training is due to commence with two new Ladies Team coaches, hungry for success, and ready to win Division 3, welcome Frank and Steve.

The Men's team successes have been almost run-away, winning both Local and National leagues, as well as Nuno's individual recognition as Division 3's Most Valuable Player. This team looks determined and likely to continue their winning run in Division 2 next year. Great job guys.

The summer doesn't bring much rest for Dartford players, who will be entering teams in outdoor tournaments at Bath, Ashcombe, Richmond and more. Good luck also to the Dartford players who will be representing their home nations at the 10th Anniversary All Nations Volleyball tournament this summer, in London.

Tournaments

Ashcombe 2014

Ashcombe Volleyball Tournament was held on the 28th and 29th June 2014.

We had 3 teams taking part in a 4 a side tournament and all three came back home triumphant. One finished up top of their division and two others were runners up in their relevant divisions.

All Nations

Quite a few of our Dartford players took part in the 10 year anniversary of All Nations tournament played on 07/08 and 14/15 June 2014. They joined tems: GB, UK, Canada, Germany, Brazil and Oceans. We all had an unbelievable time.

SEVA

Both our men's and ladies' teams competed in the Kent League cup finals on 08 June 2014. They both reached the semi finals but unfortunately did not win. It was a great experience and the teams are now looking forward to the next season.

Bath

A mixed team participated in the Whitefield Volleyball Tournament, the largest and most popular outdoor volleyball event in UK.

The 2014 Whitefield Tournament was held on the weekend of 19-20 of July 2014 in the heart of the beautiful City of Bath and despite the torrential rain, we played at our best ability and enjoyed the tournament immensly.
